Sports Desk: Bangladesh right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed batted incredibly in the first innings of the Harare Test. In Test cricket, he managed to score more than ten runs in his previous 13 innings only once. In the remaining 12 innings, he had to stop below one figure or ten runs.

That Taskin played the best innings of his career in the first innings of the only Test of the Zimbabwe tour. The right-arm pacer hit 13 fours off 114 balls for about four hours.

Taskin played some great cover drives to plunge the Zimbabwean bowlers into despair. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation. Any batsman might want to play those shots on his best day.

Not only his own batting, but also a record partnership of 191 runs with Mahmudullah Riyad for the ninth wicket, Taskin's achievement of bringing a big collection to the Bangladesh team. And he gave the main credit for his batting improvement to the team's fielding coach Ryan Cook.

There is always a batting specialist coach or mentor in the Bangladesh team. John Lewis has worked before the current tour, before him was Neil Mackenzie. And Ashwell Prince is the batting consultant for this year's tour of Zimbabwe.
However, the fielding coach does the job of batting with the bowlers with enthusiasm. That's what Taskin said at the end of the second day of the Test in Harare on Wednesday. He said that bowlers have also started focusing on batting mainly inspired by Ryan Cook.

Taskin commented, ‘The batting coach has come into this series. There was not much work with him but there was talk. Our fielding coach Ryan Cook encouraged our bowlers to bat. In the last series, he said that this time I should buy a batting spike (shoes) when I come. '

He added, ‘Usually bowlers bat after the bowling boot. This time I came down after batting boots. The coach was happy too. When he came today, he was saying, you see, you are the batsman when it comes to batting. Many thanks to him for encouraging me to bat. '

At the time, Taskin said he always tried to contribute to the team's collection, even as a tail-line batsman. Especially if there is an established batsman in the wicket, there is more concern to accompany him. Which has been successful in the current Harare Test.

"The goal is always to be a good tailor," said Taskin. In every big team you will see that the batsmen below are reliable enough. I also want to be a reliable tailor. If the team has a quick wicket or a settled batsman, we can play with a little support. '
