Nepal's President Vidya Devi has reached Dhaka

News Desk: Nepal's President Vidya Devi Bhandari has arrived in Dhaka. President. At the invitation of Abdul Hamid, he arrived in Dhaka on a two-day state visit to attend the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.

The chartered plane carrying Vidya Devi and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 10 am today (Monday).

President Abdul Hamid received the President of Nepal at the airport. After 21 rounds of artillery fire, the President of Nepal was given a guard of honor at the airport. This is Nepal's first visit to Bangladesh as President.

Vidya Devi Bhandari will stay in Dhaka for two days on March 22 and 23. According to the schedule, he will visit the National Memorial in Savar shortly.

In the afternoon, he will meet the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister. He will then attend the ceremony at the National Parade Ground. A cultural event featuring Bangladeshi and Nepalese artists has also been organized on the occasion.

In the evening, the President of Nepal will meet the President of Bangladesh and discuss various bilateral issues. A number of agreements and memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed between the two sides in the presence of the two leaders.

This time, the issue of the 'Operational Legislation of Rahanpur-Singhabad Railway Transit' agreement may be added to the transit and protocol agreement. In this way, the freight train will go through Rahanpur of Chapainawabganj and Singhabad border of Malda of India to Biratnagar of Nepal. Nepal will sometimes use Indian territory. At present, Bangladesh and Nepal have bilateral transit and protocol agreements.

Under this agreement, Nepal was given 8 ports of call. These are Chittagong Port, Mongla Port, Benapole, Banglabandha, Biral, and Chilahati. These ports of call can transport goods to Nepal. But at present regular goods do not come and go in Nepal through any other port except Banglabandha.

The foreign ministries of the two countries have completed preparations in this regard, foreign ministry sources said. The agreements and memoranda of understanding will strengthen the tourism sector, cultural contacts, and trade relations between the two countries.

Tonight, the President said. Abdul Hamid will host a dinner in honor of the President of Nepal and his delegation.

Tomorrow (March 23), the President of Nepal Bangabandhu will visit the Memorial Museum. He will then return to Kathmandu.

The delegation of the President of Nepal includes the Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary of Nepal as well as high-ranking officials.
