Fire at DMK's Corona ICU, three killed

News Desk: A fire broke out in the ICU on the third floor of the new building of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital allotted for corona patients. Three people died while evacuating patients after the fire.

Wednesday (March 18) Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital Director Brigadier General. Nazmul Haque has confirmed this information.

He said a fire broke out in the ICU of the Corona unit of the new building in the morning. All the patients in the ICU have been removed. They were sent to different wards including the ICU of the old burn unit and CCU of the new building. Three people died while undergoing treatment there.

Zia Rahman of the fire service headquarters confirmed the incident and said that three units went to the spot and extinguished the fire after receiving the news of the fire.

It is learned that a committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
