Information Technology Desk:  Finally, the customers of the government mobile phone operator Teletalk are getting the opportunity to use the network of the private operator Banglalink. Even if an area does not have its own network, all types of services including talking will be available using Banglalink's network.

This system of network sharing is called 'National Roaming' service. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak will officially inaugurate the service on Tuesday. However, even if it is launched, Teletalk customers will be able to use Banglalink's network for the time being. In the beginning, two thousand Teletalk customers will be able to take this service. Gradually its scope will increase. Later, Banglalink will use Teletalk's network.

Those concerned say that inter-operator network sharing has been talked about for a long time to improve the quality of service. The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has already given approval in this regard. According to the stakeholders, Teletalk's profit is high in this initiative. Because the network management of the state institution is weak. And Banglalink has an extensive network of 14,500 towers across the country. As a result Teletalk customers will get additional benefits; With the operator can serve their customers.

Currently Banglalink has 4 crore 34 lakh 40 thousand subscribers and Teletalk has 64 lakh 80 thousand subscribers. A proposal for network sharing between Robi and Teletalk is awaiting BTRC's approval.
