Diplomatic Correspondent: Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet paid a courtesy call on Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. A K M Shamsul Islam at his office on Monday, where the two sides held fruitful discussions on bilateral defence cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared values, including respect for international law, freedom, and a strong commitment to strengthening multilateralism.
The Ambassador noted that as Indo-Pacific nations, France and Bangladesh are natural partners, highlighting the growing strategic importance of cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed appreciation for Bangladesh’s significant contributions to international peacekeeping operations.
Ambassador Séré-Charlet further reiterated France’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Bangladesh in the defence sector, signaling continued cooperation in the years ahead.
