Diplomatic Correspondent: The Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka successfully organized a three-day culinary event titled “The Art of Making Tasty Thai Food” from April 19 to 21, 2026, at the National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI). The initiative aimed to promote greater understanding and appreciation of authentic Thai cuisine among the people of Bangladesh, particularly aspiring future chefs.
The workshop was conducted by renowned Thai chef Kroongtana Nimnu, who shared professional cooking skills, traditional techniques, and culinary secrets through an interactive hands-on learning experience.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from students of NHTTI, winners of the Embassy’s promotional campaigns, and popular Bangladeshi food influencer Banglar Bartender.
Participants learned to prepare several iconic Thai dishes, including Green Curry, Som Tam, Lemongrass Fried Chicken, Pad Kaprao, and Mango Sticky Rice. The rich flavors and aromas of the dishes impressed attendees, many of whom said the experience made them feel as if they had returned to Bangkok.
The program reflects the Embassy’s continued commitment to promoting Thai culture through food, one of Thailand’s most powerful forms of soft power, while further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cultural relations between Thailand and Bangladesh.
