Diplomatic Correspondent: German Ambassador Rüdiger Lotz participated in a productive discussion with Ashik Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), on Thursday, 2 April.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and exploring new avenues for investment. The discussion focused on strengthening business ties between Germany and Bangladesh, particularly in key sectors with high growth potential.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Lotz underscored Bangladesh’s emerging role as an attractive investment destination for German businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He noted that several regions in Germany—especially the industrial hubs in the western and southwestern parts of the country—offer promising opportunities for deeper collaboration.
“Bangladesh has growing potential as an investment market for German businesses, including SMEs. Several regions in Germany, particularly the industrial hubs in the west and the southwest, present exciting opportunities for deeper engagement. Conversations with Bangladeshi partners like BIDA are a vital part of the German Embassy's efforts to strengthen the business ties between our two countries,” the Ambassador said.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen economic engagement and promote mutually beneficial partnerships.
