Diplomatic Correspondent: Heads of Mission from several European countries, along with the European Union (EU), met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman earlier today, conveying their readiness to further strengthen relations with Bangladesh’s new government.

The diplomatic delegation included ambassadors and representatives from Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the European Union.

During the meeting, the EU expressed its strong support for Bangladesh’s priority reforms, economic modernisation, and efforts toward managed migration. Emphasising the importance of maintaining a level playing field, the envoys highlighted the need to create a conducive environment for investment and sustainable economic growth.

The discussion also underscored that shared values remain at the core of the EU’s global partnerships, including its long-standing engagement with Bangladesh.
