Diplomatic Correspondent: High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, inaugurated an exquisite group art exhibition titled “CROSSROAD… not a project” at Galleri Kaya in Dhaka on Friday, 3 April 2026.

The exhibition features works by 11 contemporary Bangladeshi artists, including scholars of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The artworks explore a wide range of themes—from tributes to the martyrs of the Language Movement to evocative portrayals of everyday life and nature—offering visitors a rich and diverse artistic experience.

In his inaugural remarks, High Commissioner Verma highlighted the vital role of art in strengthening India-Bangladesh relations. He noted that art serves as a powerful medium that connects people of both countries, reflecting their shared history, geography, language, culture, and traditions.

He further emphasized that the exchange of art and artists has long been a significant aspect of bilateral cultural engagement. Artists from both nations have inspired, influenced, and collaborated with one another to create remarkable works.

Expressing optimism for the future, the High Commissioner said he looks forward to increased exchanges in the field of art between India and Bangladesh, adding that such initiatives will continue to be supported and encouraged in every possible way.
