CanCham Bangladesh Hosts Iftar Mahfil in Dhaka to Strengthen Canada–Bangladesh Business Ties

Diplomatic Correspondent: The Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CanCham Bangladesh) hosted an Iftar Mahfil in Dhaka, bringing together diplomats, business leaders, and distinguished guests in a spirit of Ramadan to promote stronger economic and business relations between Canada and Bangladesh.

The event was held on Sunday, 15 March 2026, at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel. The High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh, Ajit Singh, attended the event as the Chief Guest.

Speaking at the program, the President of the Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammad Kamal Uddin, welcomed the distinguished guests and participants. He highlighted the growing importance of Canada–Bangladesh relations and said that CanCham Bangladesh has been working actively to strengthen bilateral trade, investment opportunities, and cooperation between the business communities of the two countries. He also thanked the guests for their participation and continued support for the chamber’s initiatives.

In his remarks, Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh appreciated the role of CanCham Bangladesh in promoting economic engagement between the two countries. He noted that Canada values its partnership with Bangladesh and sees significant potential for expanding trade, investment, and collaboration in various sectors, including education, technology, and sustainable development. He also emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections and the role of the business community in strengthening bilateral relations.

The event was attended by diplomats, business leaders, members of the chamber, and other distinguished guests. The evening concluded with prayers and the Iftar, reflecting the spirit of unity, friendship, and cooperation during the holy month of Ramadan.
