UK and Bangladesh Reaffirm Commitment to Rule of Law and Parliamentary Democracy

Diplomatic Correspondent: The British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Sarah Cooke, met today with Md Asaduzzaman, the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, to discuss issues of mutual interest and cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the strong and longstanding partnership between the United Kingdom and Bangladesh, particularly their shared commitment to the rule of law and parliamentary democracy.

They also exchanged views on strengthening collaboration in areas related to governance, legal frameworks, and democratic institutions. The discussion underscored the importance of continued engagement between the two countries to promote transparency, justice, and democratic values.

The United Kingdom expressed its interest in working closely with Bangladesh on shared priorities and further deepening bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
