Woman Killed in Truck-Microbus Collision in Madhukhali, Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: A woman was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at the Paikkandi area in the Raipur Union of Madhukhali Upazila in Faridpur.

The accident occurred around noon on Tuesday (May 13). The deceased has been identified as Shukla Roy (35), wife of Jibon Roy from Aarpora village in Madhukhali upazila. The identities of the injured could not be immediately confirmed.

According to locals, a tile-laden truck (Dhaka Metro Ta 11-9011) heading from Sylhet to Jhenaidah collided head-on with a microbus (Dhaka Metro Cha 19-8377) coming from the opposite direction when it reached the Paikkandi area. As a result, Shukla Roy died on the spot, and two others were seriously injured.

It has been reported that Shukla Roy was traveling from Aarpora to Faridpur town for medical treatment.

Md. Salauddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating, "A woman has been killed in a collision between a tile-laden truck and a microbus. The injured have been admitted to Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex. The body of the deceased has been recovered and sent to the morgue at Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy."
