Kurigram Correspondent: Two brothers, Ibrahim Ali (12) and Imran Hossain (8), drowned in the Brahmaputra River while swimming in Ulipur, Kurigram. Their bodies were recovered on Monday morning (May 12), two days after they went missing.
According to local sources, the two brothers drowned around 3 PM on Saturday while swimming in the Brahmaputra River at Char Jolangarkuthi village in Buraburi Union, Ulipur. Despite extensive searches by the Fire Service divers and locals, they were not found. Finally, at 6 AM on Monday, locals discovered their bodies floating about three kilometers downstream in the Palerghat area of Hatia Union and recovered them.
Ulipur Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC), Zillur Rahman, confirmed the incident and said the bodies were handed over to the family after completing legal procedures.
