Attempted rape of 6-year-old child in Siddhirganj, 2 arrested

Narayanganj Correspondent: Police have arrested two people on charges of attempting to rape a six-year-old girl in Siddhirganj. The arrested are Hasan, son of Md. Shahjahan of Khyalpur village under Palang police station in Shariatpur, and Majidul Alif alias Shahria, son of Anisuzzaman Roni of Magura village under Nesarabad police station in Pirojpur.

Earlier, the incident took place in the Sahebpara area of ​​Siddhirganj last Thursday night. On Friday night, the victim's mother filed a complaint against three people at Siddhirganj Police Station. The police were unable to arrest another accused, Arafat.

According to the victim's family and the complaint source, the victim's child, who lives in the same house, went out of the house to play on the night of the incident. Taking this opportunity, the accused took the child to their house and tried to rape him. Later, when the child's mother screamed, the accused released the child. The injured child was rescued and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by his family for treatment.

The victim's mother said, "The accused are our neighbors. On the night of the incident, I was busy cooking at home. My daughter was playing at the time. Later, after not seeing my daughter for a long time, I went to the accused Hasan's house and found him trying to rape my daughter and the other two accused, Alif and Arafat, were helping her."

Confirming the matter, Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahinur Alam said that the two accused have been arrested. The child has been sent to the hospital. Further legal action is under process. The operation to arrest the absconding accused is ongoing.
