Father\'s suicide by killing his infant son in Jessore

Benapole Correspondent: Father Imamul Hossain (28) committed suicide by hanging his 11-month-old son Ayman Hossain in Jessore due to a family dispute. The deceased is the son of Amjad Gazi of Sharifpur village of Jhikargacha upazila of Imamul district.

On Sunday (August 11) at around 10 o'clock in the evening, he committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope along with a fan.

Locals said that Imamul lived abroad for a long time. His wife Mumtaz Begum (23) was not allowed to visit her father's house. There was an argument between his wife Mumtaz and Imamul about the matter. At one point, Mumtaz left her eleven-month-old baby Ayman with her father Imamul and went to his father's house in Haria Diara village. The baby starts crying for milk. He could not stop crying and strangled the child. Then father Imamul committed suicide by hanging a rope at some point of the night.

Imamul's mother Rahima Begum said, yesterday, my grandmother Mumtaz Begum and her son Imamul both made a mess about going to their father's house. At one point she left the little child and went to her father's house. During the day, I kept the baby fed and fed. But my son Enamul sleeps with the little child. I woke up in the morning and saw my son's dead body hanging on the rope. The dead body of my little Ayman is lying on the bed next to me.

Officer-in-charge of Jhikargacha Police Station Kamal Hossain Bhuia said, I visited the scene after getting the information in the morning. I came to know that Imamul committed suicide due to family quarrel. Ayman Kew found her little baby dead in Imamul's house. He said that further investigation is being conducted in this regard.
