News Desk: From now on, the national flag of Bangladesh will fly in government and private buildings and diplomatic missions abroad on March 7. March 8 has been included in the Flag Hoisting Day by amending the 'Flag Rules of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, 1972'.

It was published in the form of a gazette on Monday (February 15) after the notification of the amended rules was issued by the Cabinet Division. The Cabinet approved the proposal to declare the day of speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 7, 1971 as a historic day. Later, the cabinet department issued a circular in this regard.

The day of the speech was declared March 7, 1971 as a 'historic March 7' and the day was included as a Class A day in the National and International Circulars for the celebration of the day. However, the general holiday will not apply to this day. The Ministry of Culture will be in charge of initiating the celebration of the day.

However, in view of the direct involvement in the thematic distribution, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs is directly involved in the celebration of the day and the Ministry of Education should be involved in these activities in order to properly disseminate the historical significance and awareness of the day to the next generation.

Rule 4 (1) of the Flag Rules states that the flag of Bangladesh shall be hoisted in the following manner on the following days and occasions in all public and private buildings of Bangladesh and in the offices and consular posts of diplomatic missions abroad: Independence Day, December 16 is Victory Day, any other day notified by the government.

By amending the rules, the historic March 7 has now been added.
