Vice Chancellor Kanak Kanti Barua took the first vaccination at BSMMU

News Desk: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kanak Kanti Barua has been vaccinated against corona virus. He took his first vaccination on Thursday (January 26) at 9am when the vaccination program at BSMMU, the country's second center, began.

More than 100 members of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society are volunteering to streamline the immunization program. Meanwhile, to make the immunization program a success, four booths have been set up at the Covid-19 immunization center in a well-equipped building at the convention center of Bangabandhu Medical University on the opposite side of Hotel Intercontinental.

A few beds have also been set up for vaccination. There is also quite a crowd for vaccination registration. After the first vaccination at the center in the morning, the university's vice chancellor, Professor. "It is my social, state and personal responsibility to get vaccinated," said Kanak Kanti Barua. People will get confidence and courage when they see me.

State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak is scheduled to take the vaccine at the center. Vaccination is being carried out in five hospitals in the capital on the second day (Thursday) of the corona vaccination program. Earlier on Wednesday (January 26) at 3:30 pm, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the corona vaccination program in Bangladesh. With the inauguration of the Prime Minister, five people were vaccinated at the Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital.

Apart from Runu, doctors Ahmed Lutful Moben, Additional Director General of the Health Department Prof Nasima Sultana, Motijheel Traffic Police Officer Didarul Islam and Brigadier General M Imran Hamid also took the vaccine. In all, a total of 26 people from different walks of life were vaccinated at Kurmitola General Hospital.
