New Zealand stopped Pakistan before making 300

Sports Desk: There are many similarities between Pakistan's start and end batting. Both failed. But defending the skills of the middle order. Even then, big numbers were not added at the end of the day next to their names.

In the 1st innings of the 2nd Test of the series against New Zealand, the Pakistan batsmen were bowled out for 296 runs. Kiwi bowler Kyle Jamieson smashed the visitors' batting line-up with great bowling. He took 5 wickets for 69 runs. After losing the toss in Christchurch, Shane Masood was dismissed for zero in the third over of the innings.

The team's run was only 4 then. Experienced Azhar Ali put up resistance with another opener Abid Ali. They added 72 runs for the second wicket. Abid returned to the dressing room with 25 runs. Then Harris Sohail returned with 1 run and Fawad Alam, the centurion of the previous match, returned with 2 runs. Pakra lost 4 wickets for 63 runs. However, captain Rizwan came forward. He dismissed the Pakistan captain for 61 runs. Azhar Ali was also out for just 7 runs away from the century. All-rounder Fahim Ashraf was showing hope to Pakistan. The anointed Jafar Gohar was accompanying him well. However, returning Fahim Ashraf who scored 48 runs, Jamison took 5 wickets for the third time in his career. Gohar collected 34 runs. After the departure of the two of them, Pak tail ender was able to last only 3 overs.

The Bolt-Saudi pair wrapped them up. Saudi and Bolt took 2 wickets each besides Jamison's 5 wickets. As a result, Pakistan's first innings stopped at 296 runs. As they were all out in the last session, the field umpires ended the first day's play.
