Coronavirus: 52 lakh people of 18 classes will be vaccinated first in the country

News Desk: Considering the importance of preventing corona virus, 52 lakh people in 16 classes will be vaccinated in the first phase. After that others will get vaccinated in phases.

The first list includes health workers, law enforcement, military and paramilitary forces, freedom fighters, public representatives, journalists, important government officials, service workers, religious professionals, garment workers, port workers and people with low immunity. This information has been mentioned in the preliminary draft of the National Covid-19 vaccine distribution and preparation plan.

The draft has been submitted to the Ministry of Health for approval. Once the corona vaccine arrives in the country, it will be stored in different districts of the country including Dhaka. According to the Department of Health, 80 percent of the country's population will be vaccinated in four phases, according to the draft vaccination plan. The remaining 20 percent will not need to be vaccinated due to hard immunity.

Corona vaccine is being developed in different countries. Some of these vaccines are awaiting approval. Bangladesh will get these vaccines through Covex. The timing of the vaccination was not right. However, the Bangladesh government has entered into an agreement with the Seram Institute of India to bring in 30 million vaccines made by Oxford. The vaccine is expected to arrive in the country next month. There are 3 committees at the national level for vaccine management in the country.

On October 20, the government formed a 26-member Covid-19 vaccine management task force with Health Minister Zahid Malek as its chief adviser to ensure that the corona vaccine arrives in the country. There have also been district and upazila committees.

These committees are working to complete all the activities including import, storage, transportation and listing of vaccine recipients. In the meantime, a draft has been prepared and sent to the Ministry of Health for approval on who will get the vaccine, where it will be given, and the schedule of vaccination.

Marufur Rahman said the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine should usually be stored at a temperature of 2 to 6 degrees Celsius. We have that setup. And the vaccines that will come through Covex have not yet been confirmed. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is more likely to come through Covex.

If the United States Pfizer vaccine is given through Covex, it should be kept at minus 60 degrees Celsius and the modern vaccine should be kept at minus 20 degrees Celsius. We have estimated the amount of cold storage that may be required.

He said that in the very first phase (‘A’ group) about 5.2 million people (3 per cent of the population) will be vaccinated. Among them are all the health workers including the doctors directly involved in the treatment of Kovid-19 patients in the government hospital, the number of which is about 3.5 lakh. This is followed by all private, autonomous healthcare organizations and NGOs, including doctors and health workers directly involved in the treatment of Kovid-19 patients, numbering about 6 lakh. Also on the priority list are 1 lakh 20 thousand health workers engaged in non-covid services in public and private health care institutions.

Heroic freedom fighters and 2 lakh 10 thousand elderly people who are at high risk of death will be vaccinated in the same step. This list is followed by 5 lakh 46 thousand 619 members of law enforcement (police, traffic police, Ansar, VDP), about 3 members of military-paramilitary and defense forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, BGB, RAB, Coast Guard, Presidential Guard Regiment). Lakh 80 thousand 913 people. After that there are about 5,000 important government officials (ministry, secretariat, deputy commissioner, UNO). About 50,000 journalists and media workers are on the front lines. People's Representatives (MP, Mayor, City Corporation, Municipality, Councilor) 1 lakh 8 thousand 298 people.

About one and a half lakh employees of the city corporation. The list also includes religious professionals (associated with mosques, temples, churches, Buddhist temples and other places of worship) about 5 lakh 7 thousand people and 75 thousand workers involved in burials and funerals.

Besides, the list includes about 4 lakh workers involved in gas, water, electricity, sewerage, fire service and transport system, about 1.5 lakh port workers and 120,000 expatriate workers who will return to their respective countries for work. At the district and upazila level, 4 lakh government officials and employees and 1 lakh 96 thousand 721 bank workers have to work in direct contact with the people. In addition, there are 6 lakh people who have low immunity (such as HIV, tuberculosis, cancer, etc.). About 6,000 people will be vaccinated for use as a buffer reserve on an emergency basis.

In the first phase (Group B), there are plans to vaccinate about 12 million people (6% of the population). Preference will be given to those above 60 years of age in this list. This age group has the highest coronary mortality rate.

Dr. Maruf said there are plans to vaccinate 182 million people (11-20% of the population) in the second phase. The list includes 55 lakh 6 thousand 758 people aged 55 years and above who did not get vaccinated in the first stage. Besides, there are 30 lakh 21 thousand 936 people infected with old and risky diseases, 18 lakh 8 thousand 53 employees of teachers and educational institutions in high risk areas, 50 thousand media workers who were not vaccinated in the previous step, 10 lakh 11 thousand 226 people in remote areas, small 12 lakh ethnic groups, 5 lakh public transport workers, 2 lakh 42 thousand 984 people working in hotels, restaurants and pharmacies and 36 lakh readymade garment workers. Urgent application at this step

3 lakh vaccines will be reserved for public use.

In the third phase, about 3 and a half crore people will be vaccinated (the remaining 21-40% of the population). Preference will be given to 6 lakh 8 thousand 204 teachers and employees of educational institutions who have not been vaccinated in the previous step. In addition, there are pregnant women, government employees who have not been vaccinated before, members of law enforcement, city corporation and municipality workers, workers of autonomous and semi-government organizations, workers of export and industrial establishments, emergency workers in private organizations, prisoners and prisoners. Floating population, workers engaged in agriculture and food supply, dormitory dwellers, homeless people, workers of other industries; Other public transport workers and 50-54 year olds. In the last phase, another 8 crore 91 lakh 23 thousand 754 people (remaining 41-60% of the population) will be vaccinated. At this stage there will be children, teenagers, school going students and others.

The way the list will be

The list will be prepared by the District, City Corporation, Municipality and Upazila Covid-19 Coordinating Committee at each stage of tick donation. According to the target, for the voluntary registration of a particular population, it is necessary to register in the electronic system with national identity card or birth registration certificate or passport. Work has already started on this.

Where to be vaccinated

Vaccination activities will be institution based. From City Corporation area to Union level through various offices (such as Public-Private Medical College Hospital, District Sadar Hospital, Upazila Health Complex, Infectious Diseases Hospital, Police Hospital, Urban Primary Health Care Center, Union or Ward Councilor's Office) . Vaccination will be held daily from 9 am to 3 pm except weekly and public holidays. There will be a team of two vaccinators and 4 volunteers. They will vaccinate 100-150 people every day. According to the draft plan, the work will be completed in 6 installments (2 rounds per installment) from a minimum of 96 days to a maximum of 392 days.

Vaccine preservation method

Vaccines made by Oxford University and AstraZeneca in the United Kingdom will be stored in EPI's Dhaka city and district level warehouses. According to a member of the Covid-19 vaccine management task force, these will be stored in Dhaka first after the corona vaccine arrives. From there it will be kept in the warehouse in the district town. From there it will be sent to the upazila. These vaccines can be kept at a certain temperature for 3 months.

The member further said that the vaccine that is coming should be kept at a temperature of 2 to 6 degrees Celsius. Vaccines given to children and mothers in the country are also kept at the same temperature. As a result, there is no problem with the stock of corona vaccine.
