Vitamin A

Vitamin A is a fatty substance which is the second most important nutrient for lung health. Vitamin A plays an important role in boosting immunity, which helps the body regenerate cells. So by increasing the amount of vitamin A intake, you can keep the lung tissues naturally healthy. In addition to the importance of this vitamin for lung function, it also improves other tissues and cells. Vitamin A also helps in the development of fetal lungs. On the plus side, it eliminates unhealthy sugary foods from one's diet. Being a fat-soluble vitamin, these nutrients are stored in the body for a long time and are needed in small amounts. Taking too much vitamin A causes liver and bone problems. Dairy products, fish, carrots, broccoli, cantaloupe and squash are some common sources of vitamin A.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps our body in many ways. Protecting the lungs from chronic diseases is one of them. Getting enough vitamin C in one day helps to increase immunity and build collagen in the skin. Smoking and pollution can cause inflammation in the body due to the presence of free radicals and toxins in the lungs. Vitamin C, which is mainly present in citric fruits, fights against free radicals and toxins and helps the body get rid of these harmful molecules. This further reduces the rate of damage to the lung tissues and allows the body to recover naturally. According to a 2014 study published in the Journal of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology, vitamin C can improve lung function and halve the risk of shortness of breath during and after exercise. The main potential benefits of this nutrient are due to its antioxidant properties. Include large amounts of citrus fruits, green peppers, guavas, kiwis, broccoli, cal and berries in your diet that contain vitamin C.

Vitamin D

In addition to strengthening teeth and bones, vitamin D protects you from respiratory infections and can reduce your risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to a study, vitamin D deficiency can increase the risk of shortness of breath. Other problems such as bronchitis, asthma and shortness of breath can be caused by a lack of vitamin D.

Vitamin D plays an important role in improving lung function. Adequate supply of these nutrients is not difficult because sunlight is the main source of vitamin D. Some other foods, such as tuna, salmon, sardines, oysters, and egg yolks, are naturally high in vitamin D.
