Global death toll of Covid-19 climbs to 711,220

CNI Desk: A total of 711,220 people died from coronavirus worldwide in the  213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in Wuhan of China last December, according to latest data from worldometer.

So far, 18,976,340 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus  till Thursday (Bangladesh Time 10:20 am). Of them, 12,165,610 patients have been considered recovered, the source said.

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 6,099,510.

With the new tally in the 24-hour, 6,855 patients died from coronavirus while 271,962 coronavirus cases have been diagnosed, and 247,808 patients have been considered recovered.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 161,601 deaths, followed by Brazil with 97,418, Mexico 49,698, UK 46,364, India 

40,739, Italy 35,181, France 30,305, Spain

28,499, Iran 17,802, Russia 14,490, Canada 8,962, Pakistan 6,014, Indonesia 5,452, Saudi Arab 3,020 and Australia 255 respectively, worldometer reported.
