Attempt to molest school girl in Dinajpur, accused youth arrested

Dinajpur Correspondent: The Kotyali Thana Police handed over the arrested youth Sakhawat Hossain to the court on Monday, accused of molesting a 6th grade schoolgirl in Kalitala area of ​​Dinajpur city.

It is known that on Sunday the 20-year-old young man followed the 12-year-old girl around 8:45 am and tried to kiss her by force. The student's father filed a case against the young man under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act.

The arrested is the son of Ariful Islam Mintu of Baluadanga Mahalla of Sakhawat town. He studied at a Hafizia Madrasa in Munsipara, Rangpur city.

Kotyali Police Station Investigation Inspector AFM Moniruzzaman Mandal Monir said that a 6th grade student of a girl's school in Kalitala Mohalla of the city was going to her cousin's house adjacent to the school at around 9.30 am on Sunday morning. Sakhawat Hossain, the young man who followed her earlier, suddenly tried to hug and kiss the girl. Meanwhile, the girl's cheek was scratched by the young man's nails. Hearing her shout, the young man was running away. Seeing the scene of the incident on CC TV, the locals chased him and handed him over to the police. He was produced in court on Monday. Meanwhile, the matter has become viral due to the spread of the CCTV footage on social media Facebook.

On the other hand, the family claims that the accused youth Sakhawat Hossain is mentally ill. They are treating him.
