Sports Desk:  Brahim Diaz's only goal kept Real Madrid in the lead until the end of the period. They suddenly scored in injury time. Atlético Madrid snatched a crucial point from the Santiago Bernabeu. The Madrid derby ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Real is at the top of the La Liga table with 58 points. They welcome second-placed Girona next Saturday. The difference between the two teams is only 2 points. Atletico remain in fourth place with 48 points, 2 points behind third-placed Barcelona.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti told reporters after the match, "It was a good game from our team." We controlled the game but unfortunately conceded a goal in the last minute. We did well, deserved to win. But we have no complaints. We are the top team and have another chance to make a big step next Saturday.

Real had to enter the field without Vinicius Jr. He felt discomfort in his back during the warm-up. Diaz took his place.

Diaz took the place of the Brazilian forward and put Real forward in 20 minutes. Atlético's defense in the box shook the net after receiving a loose ball. It was his fourth league goal of the season.

At the start of the second half, Atlético scored. But equality did not return with that goal. Stefan Savic's header was ruled out for offside on VAR.

Diego Simeone's side finally found the back of the net. In the third minute of six minutes of injury time, Marcos Llorente's header from a deep Memphis cross beat Real keeper Andriy Lunin into the net.
