Textile and jute sector's prosperity has been taken as a challenge: Minister of Textiles and Jute

Own Correspondent:  Textiles and Jute Minister and Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak MP said that he has taken the prosperity of the jute sector as a challenge. I will perform my duty with confidence and steadfastness to revive the textile and jute sector. 

He said this during a courtesy meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute in the conference room of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute today (January 14) at noon. Textiles and Jute Secretary Md. Abdur Rauf and senior officials of the ministry were present during the meeting.

The minister said that effective initiatives will be taken to increase the export of versatile jute products instead of depending only on garments as export products. 

He said that all efforts will continue to build Smart Bangladesh through the implementation of "Vision 2041" under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Jannetri Sheikh Hasina. 

It should be noted that Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, MP took oath as a minister yesterday. This member of the presidium of Awami League has got the responsibility of textile and jute ministry in the new cabinet. 

He, Jahangir Kabir Nanak has been elected in Dhaka-13 seat in the 12th National Parliament Election. In 2008, Nanak was elected as an MP for the first time from Mohammadpur Constituency (Dhaka-13) in the capital. In 2009, he served as the State Minister of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Earlier, this colorful politician was elected Member of Parliament for the second time from the same constituency in the 2014 national elections.
