Inauguration of sculpture-installation on the Constitution of 1972 at Nazrul University

Nazrul University Representative: Dhruv 72, the country's first sculpture-installation centered on the first constitution of Bangladesh i.e. the 1972 Constitution, was inaugurated in the premises of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University. 'Dhruv '72' sculpture-installation is designed by Soumitra Shekhar. Here the four principles of the Constitution of 72 Nationalism, Socialism, Democracy, Secularism are enshrined in the four lofty pillars.

On Saturday (December 16th) at 04:30 PM, a discussion meeting on the Constitution and 'Dhruv '72' was inaugurated. It was presided over and inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Soumitra Shekhar. Professor Dr. Treasurer participated in the discussion. Ataur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Md. Nazrul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Professor Dr. Md. Riyad Hasan, registrar agriculturist Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Head of Department of Public Administration and Government Management Azizur Rahman and Head of Department of Law and Judiciary Md. Ahsan Kabir.

The 'nationalism' pillar is modeled after the flag of Bangladesh during the liberation war; There are four books under the 'Samajtantra' pillar, where the depth of study and knowledge is meant; In the 'Democracy' pillar, the nib of the pen signifies freedom of expression and in the 'Secular' pillar, the convocation cap signifies freedom of reformation. The 'Dhruv '72' facility has been built in the Plaza of Social Science and Business Administration Building, which will be known as 'Constitution Courtyard'. Note that Kazi Nazrul Islam is connected with the word 'Dhruv'. He acted in a film by this name. 

Professor Dr. Soumitra Shekhar said, "This may be the first establishment in the country with the constitution of 72, the first constitution of Bangladesh. I have been thinking about such a work for the last two years and finally I was able to shape the establishment with the help of everyone. In 'Dhruv '72' the four basic principles of the Constitution have been highlighted, so that it shines before the students, teachers and common people. The Constitution came into force on 16th December 1972. This is the golden jubilee or 50 years of the Constitution coming into force.
