Democracy Olympiad held with students in Ishwarganj

Ishwarganj Representative:  Democracy Olympiad was held in Ishwarganj, Mymensingh in the light of the slogan 'Aware, organized and vocal people are the safeguards of democracy'. Democracy Olympiad was held on Monday at Ishwarganj Government Degree College Campus as part of voter awareness and civic activism program organized by The Hunger Project in collaboration with citizens for good governance.

About 400 students from 8 educational institutions of the upazila participated in the Democracy Olympiad competition. Democracy Olympiad held under the overall supervision of The Hunger Project-Bangladesh and Ishwarganj Upazila Sujan Mymensingh Agricultural University College, Ishwarganj Government Degree College, Ideal College, Residential College, Alinagar Technical and Commercial College, Sohagi Union Higher Secondary School, Ishwarganj DS Kamil Madrasa, Ishwarganj Girls School 398 students of And College participated. Certificates were distributed to all participating students.

Besides, among the 10 people with the highest number, 7 people were given medals and first, second and third place holders were given crests and certificates. Ashraful Hayat, a student of Mymensingh Agricultural University College, won the first place, Taslima Akhter, a student of Ishwarganj Government Degree College, and Shafiuzzaman, a student of Ishwarganj Residential College, won the 3rd place. 

Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Mahbubur Rahman was present as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Ishwarganj Government Degree College Principal Rafiqul Islam Khan. Ishwarganj Police Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Majeedur Rahman, The Hunger Project-Bangladesh Mymensingh District Regional Coordinator Jayant Kar were special.

Regional Accounts Officer Rezaul Karim, Area Coordinator ANN Nazmul Hasan, Mips Mymensingh District Manager Aktaruzzaman, Freedom Teachers Parishad Ishwarganj Upazila Branch Convener Abdullah Al Mamun Kamal, Citizen for Good Governance Sujan Ishwarganj Upazila Branch President Saiful Islam Talukdar, General Secretary Neelkanth Aich Majumdar and others.
