ACC has arrested a food officer in Faridpur

Faridpur representative:  Faridpur. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a food officer named Chanwar Hossain (41). The food officer was arrested in front of the Faridpur District Food Controller's office on Sunday (May 14). 

The arrested food officer was working as a sub-food inspector (temporary suspension) in the office of food controller of Boalmari upazila in Chanoar Hossain district. It is also known that he is from Naogaon village in Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka. Son of Abdul Quddus.

According to the district office of ACC Faridpur, the food officer, despite being a government employee, obtained 73.763 tons of rice in 1289 sacks, 3.374 tons of rice in 67 sacks from the BS Dangi food warehouse of Charbhadrasan in the district through fraud, fraud, criminal breach of trust and abuse of power. Tons of wheat, food grains containing 19.950 million tons of rice in 400 bags and 8841 empty bags (5000 of 50 kg and 3841 of 30 kg) were alleged to have been embezzled on October 10, 2022. Later, in this incident, ACC filed a case against Sardar Abul Basar, the assistant director of Faridpur integrated district office. whose Case No: Faridpur No-05, Tang-11/04/2023 AD, ACC, GR No-05/2023. After that, for the sake of fair investigation, the defendant named Ejahar. ACC Faridpur district office arrested Chanwar Hossain while suspiciously roaming in front of Faridpur District Food Controller's office. 

Rezaul Karim, deputy director of the integrated district office, said that the matter of filing the charge sheet against the food officer is under process. Therefore, for the sake of a fair investigation, the defendant named Ejahar. Chanoar Hossain has been arrested. After his arrest, he was sent to Faridpur court, said the ACC deputy director.
