4 policemen were attacked while arresting accused in Chapainawabganj

Md Farooq Hossain, Chapainawabganj: 4 policemen were injured in the attack while arresting the accused in Gomstapur of Chapainawabganj. The incident took place at Bibishan village in Radhanagar union of upazila on Friday (October 14) evening. According to local sources, 4 people including 2 constables led by sub-inspectors of Gomstapur police station Shaukat Ali and Shahriar Hossain were attacked by the villagers when they went to arrest the absconding accused of a case in that village on Friday evening. At that time, police constable Sajjad Ali (25) was seriously injured and the rest were slightly injured. Among the injured, Sajjad has been shifted to Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEK) Hospital for advanced treatment. However, the police hunted down an injured person. In this regard, several sources said that 4 people were injured but 2 people received treatment at Gomstapur Upazila Health Complex. Among them, Sajjad's condition was serious and he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. In this regard, Almas Ali Sarkar, OC of Gomstapur police station, said that when the investigation officer Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali and Sub-Inspector Shahriar Hossain along with 2 constables went to arrest the accused in that village, the people of the village attacked them. A police constable Sajjad Ali was injured by their sticks. He said that legal action will be taken later in this incident.
