Death sentence ordered for two accused in Tangail Principal's murder case

Rashed Khan Menon (Russell), Tangail: The court has ordered death penalty to two accused in the murder case of Jamal Hossain Thandu, principal of Palashtali Mahavidyalaya in Sakhipur upazila of Tangail. At the same time, the convicts were fined 50 thousand rupees. Three people have been acquitted due to lack of evidence in this regard. Judge Begum Shahana Haque Siddika of the Special Judge Court of Tangail announced the verdict at around 11 o'clock on Wednesday (September 14). The convicts are Minhajur Rahman Mintu, son of deceased Hasan Ali of Fulbagh Gobarchaka village of Sakhipur and Abdul Malek Shukur, son of Suryad Ali of the same village. Mintu was present in the court when the verdict was pronounced. The pig is on the run. Advocate for the state (Special PP) Mohammad Mohsin Sikder said that on October 20, 2011, Principal Jamal Hossain Thandu left for home from Palashtali University in Sakhipur. When he reached Baillarpur area, due to previous enmity, Minhajur Rahman Mintu and his men hacked Jamal Hossain to death. Jamal Hossain's wife Parveen Begum filed a murder case at Sakhipur police station as the plaintiff. On December 26, 2012, Tangail District Detective (DB) Police SI Ayub Ali submitted a charge sheet in the name of five people. The judge ordered the death penalty for the accused on Wednesday based on the evidence. The judge acquitted the three as the charges were not proved.
