Robbery in 3 residences in Phatikchari, 2 people were beaten and looted with cash!

Mohammad Zipon Uddin, Chittagong: A group of 10 to 15 robbers committed a violent robbery by beating family members in 3 residential houses in Chittagong Fatikchari municipality. The incident took place on Wednesday (September 14) between 2 pm and 3 pm in a Hindu house named Nagar Basir Bari next to North Rangamatia Government Primary School in Ward No. 1 of the municipality. They took away money, gold ornaments, mobile phones and essential items. In this incident, two women were beaten up by a group of robbers. The victims said, first after 2 am, 40 thousand cash, 1 lakh rupees of puja equipment and his wife Ratna Chakraborty were beaten on the hands and chest from the house of Sujan Chakraborty (Brahmin) and then 1 lakh 80 thousand cash from the house of Samir Kanti Nath (clothing shop trader) of the same house. They robbed 2 heavy gold ornaments and 3 lakh 20 thousand cash, 3 wife's approximately 20 heavy gold ornaments and 5 mobile phones and hit her mother Chameli Devi on the head from Kajal Nath's house next door. In this regard, Sujan Chakraborty, the victim, said that around 2 am, 5-6 people wearing masks entered the house and broke my mobile SIM, while 5-6 people were standing outside. Later called my name and grabbed my hands and legs and grabbed my wife's throat. They took my cash of Rs 40,000 and equipment worth Rs 1 lakh bought for puja. Chameli Devi, another victim's family member, said that everyone was sleeping in the room after 2 am. When I went out to go to the bathroom, suddenly 5-6 people entered the room and hit me hard on the head and took all of us hostage and took away 3 wives' gold ornaments, cash and money. Additional Superintendent of Police Hathazari Circle Shahadat Hossain visited the spot after learning about the incident - while he assured the victims that he will give utmost importance to bringing those involved in the incident under the law. In this regard, the officer in charge of Fatikchari police station, Kazi Masud Ibn Anwar, said that he came to know about the incident in the morning. I visited the spot along with Additional Superintendent of Police. Action will be taken later subject to investigation.
