Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: Two businessmen were fined 7 thousand rupees by the mobile court after raiding Charbhadrasan Sadar Bazaar in Faridpur. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate collected these fines on Thursday afternoon. Khairul Islam. Upazila Fisheries Officer SM, Mahmudul Hasan and Sub-Inspector (SI) Charbhadrasan Police Station Prabir Kumar Mitra along with policemen were present during the operation. According to mobile court sources, M/s Dewan Brothers of Sadar Bazaar have been fined Tk 5,000 and M/s Nimai Store has been fined Tk 2,000 under 'Section 40 of Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009' for selling soybean oil at higher prices despite the government's price reduction announcement. Charbhadrasan Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Khairul Islam said that every businessman has been given a warning penalty. Strict action will be taken later if they are not corrected.
