News desk: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has commented that the people have not yet forgotten the corruption of Khamba without electricity connection. He said, “People have not forgotten the shootings at the electricity marches, the hurricane-kupi protests and the besieging of power buildings. People did not get electricity during BNP's tenure, Khamba did." He said these things in response to the speech of BNP leaders during a briefing at his residence on Tuesday (July 19). Regarding the comments of BNP leaders on electricity, Obaidul Quader asked a counter question and said, "BNP talks big about electricity in which mouth?" Do they have no shame? Those who plunged the country into darkness, during whose regime loadshedding was going on half the time day after day. It was shutting down factories, they talk about electricity today.” Highlighting the current economic crisis in the world, Obaidul Quader said, "The economic activities of the whole world have been disrupted due to Corona, Bangladesh has also kept its economy running under the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by struggling with the corona virus. He said, "The Russia-Ukraine war and its international consequences have once again threatened the economy of Bangladesh like many countries in the world. Due to the impact of the war, the energy market has become extremely unstable, in this situation, the government should take some precautionary measures in advance so that the country's economy does not face any major losses." Kader said that developed and economically prosperous countries like Japan are not able to provide regular electricity to their more than three and a half million people, "The situation is the same in Australia like Japan. Everyone has to do rationing during this crisis. A state of national emergency has been declared in the UK, and people in developed countries in the US have been asked to limit their energy use via SMS." The Bridge Minister said, "In order to keep the country's economy and employment strong, the government is ensuring uninterrupted power supply to industries and factories." A decision has been taken to reduce power generation and continue power supply through rationing in order to save valuable foreign exchange and keep the cost of power generation within the reach of the government and people in the changing global crisis." He also said, "1300-1400 million cubic feet of gas is required for power generation, it will be possible to give 1000 million cubic feet of gas to the power generation sector by giving priority to the industrial and agricultural sectors."
