Russell cheated on Home Minister's APO identity: DB

A fraudster named Russell Mia has been arrested by the Detective Cyber ​​and Special Crime Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). At that time, two mobiles and two SIMs used in fraud, 16 visiting cards (with Home Minister's APO identity) and one seal (with Home Minister's APO identity) were seized from him. He was arrested by the Detective Financial Crime Investigation Team after conducting a special operation in Kotyali police station area of ​​Rangpur district. Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective) Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid gave details on this while talking to reporters at the DB office in the capital on Tuesday (July 19) afternoon. Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid said, “MD. A person named Raj Bin Russell Talukdar created a visiting card using the photos of several ministers including the Home Minister and the photos of important people on Facebook, identifying himself as the APO of the Home Minister. He has embezzled huge amount of money by lobbying for jobs in different districts of the country including Dhaka, solving various political problems, recruitment of people in police, police clearance, transfer, settlement of cases in the area under the APO identity of Home Minister. Following the complaint of one such victim, a case of cheating was registered at Tejgaon Shilpanchal Police Station on Monday (July 18). During the investigation of the case, the location of the accused was identified with the help of technology.” Additional Police Commissioner said, "The arrested Russell is a resident of Rangpur Pirganj. He is MD. Raj Bin Russel Talukdar opens his Facebook ID. He cleverly takes photos with ministers, MPs and important persons and uploads them on Facebook. Russell used to come to the Dhanmondi party office on the occasion of Dhanmondi Awami League office being open for leaders and activists. As a result, he developed a good relationship with various leaders and activists of Awami League. He took a picture in the party office and shared it on his own Facebook ID. By using his uploaded pictures, he introduced himself in the society as an important person of Rangpur district along with his area. Apart from this, they used to make fake visiting cards with the APO identity of the Home Minister and distribute them to everyone.” The additional commissioner of DB said, "Relationship or transaction cannot be done with VIPs only if they have photos." At this time, to avoid fraud, this police officer also advised MPs, ministers and prominent members of the society to refrain from dealing with anyone with close acquaintances and to take special precautions in taking pictures with strangers or little-known people.
