Faruk Hossain, Chapainawabganj: The district food department has imposed a fine of Tk 2 lakh on a mill owner for excessive stockpiling of paddy in Chapainawabganj. The fine was imposed on Monday (June 6) from noon to 6 pm in the Atahar area of the district headquarters during a raid on Messrs. Sadia Trades. In addition, additional paddy was ordered to be sold within the next 7 days. District Food Regulatory Officer Mahmudur Hasan confirmed the matter to Dhaka Mail. Metricton paddy was directed to be sold in the market at fair price. Md. Ruhul Amin Sharif, Executive Magistrate of the district administration was present at the time.
