Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: Md. Faridpur Saltha. Police have arrested Bablu Fakir, 45, accused in 16 cases including murder. He is the son of late Mozam Fakir of Khardia village in Jadunandi union of the upazila. He was arrested during a raid in Khardia area late on Tuesday night. Saltha police officer in charge (OC) confirmed the arrest to the media. Sheikh Sadiq. On the spot, several locals of Khardia village said that despite being accused in multiple cases, Bablu Fakir was openly involved in various misdeeds from the village. If there was any trouble in the area, he would lead the way by creating a big clash with fuel. After the clash, people used to attack the opponent's house and vandalize it. They also said that Bablu used to vandalize and loot houses not only in his own village but also in the neighboring village of Boalmari. His main occupation was to make money by attacking the opponent's house and looting. However, he did not stay at home at night for fear of the police. Sometimes he would go to the jute field with kantha-balis and mosquito net and sometimes he would go to the forest to sleep. Eventually the police arrested him and restored peace to the area. Faridpur Saltha police officer in charge (OC) said. Sheikh Sadiq said Bablu Fakir was arrested on Tuesday night in a raid on a deep forest in Khardia Chayani on the basis of secret information. There are 18 cases against him for killing Sirajul in a clash between two parties in Khardia village on May 5, vandalism of Saltha Upazila Parishad and police station, speedy trial law, police plaintiff and various other crimes. These cases are pending in the wise court. The wise court has issued arrest warrants against him in three of the cases. Meanwhile, Bablu Fakir has given a statement in the wise court on Wednesday (May 25) this afternoon admitting the responsibility of killing Sirajul.
