News Desk: The foundation stone of another new border haat has been laid in the Indian state of Tripura. The plaque was unveiled by Tripura Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev on Thursday (February 3rd).

Also present at the occasion were Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Tripura Industries and Commerce Minister Manoj Kanti Dev, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswamy and Bangladesh MP Md. Abdus Sahid etc. Speaking on the occasion, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said the way India stood by Bangladesh in the 1971 war of liberation is never to be forgotten. India sheltered millions of people.

A large number of them took refuge in Tripura. But this Bengali language has made Tripura's relationship with Bangladesh more spiritual. He said the various plans adopted for the development of trade and internal relations between the two countries, including this border hut, would play a pioneering role in strengthening the relations as well as developing the industrial potential. At the time, the Tripura Chief Minister said that the inauguration of the Border Hat would further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries. Proposals have been made for 6 border haats in Tripura.

Of which 2 hats are running at present and permission has been given for 2. The other of the approved Border Hats will be at Raghna in Dharmanagar. These border huts will strengthen the trade relations as well as the spiritual ties between the two countries.
