News Desk: The government and the Transport Owners' Association have met to reschedule transport fares in the wake of rising diesel and kerosene prices. On the third day of the strike, the meeting started at 11:30 am on Sunday at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) building in Mohakhali.

At the end of the meeting, it is expected that the bus fare will be rescheduled and the strike will be called off. Last Wednesday, the government increased the retail price of diesel and kerosene from Tk 75 to Tk 80 per liter. Various political parties have protested against the government's decision. Owners and workers have been on strike since dawn on Friday in protest of the diesel price hike. That strike is going on for the third day today, Sunday.

The owners have also stopped the launch movement from yesterday afternoon. The launch owners will hold a meeting with the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) at 3.30 pm today. As a result, people are now flocking to the railway stations for movement. Crowds of passengers were seen on the train.
