Minister of Commerce himself deceived by buying cows from e-commerce site!

News Desk: Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi himself has been deceived while buying sacrificial cows from e-commerce site. He didn’t get the right cows by ordering cows online.

The Commerce Minister made the remarks at a function of the Bangladesh Competition Commission on Sunday (September 27th).

He was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled 'Role of Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) in creating a fair competitive environment in the market through implementation of competition law' in the conference room of the commission.

Tipu Munshi said, “I paid one lakh rupees for a cow during the inauguration of an e-commerce company last Eid-ul-Adha. But I did not get the cow that showed me. I was deceived by ordering myself.

He said that if something is introduced anew, problems arise. I am the victim of it myself. Many like me have unknowingly invested in e-commerce. Have suffered.

He opined that now is the right time to take action against e-commerce companies through proper legislation.

Chairperson of the Competition Commission Mofizul Islam presided over the function. Commission members Manzur Quader, Nasreen Begum and GM Saleh Uddin and ERF President Sharvin Rinvi were also present on the occasion.
