Potatoes are exported to different districts including the capital Dhaka to meet the local demand. Sayedar Rahman, a potato farmer from Uttar Durakuti village in Bahagili Union, said, "I am preparing 6 bighas of land for early potatoes this time."

The land preparation work has been completed in Ito. Planting of potato seeds will start in a day or two. I have planted aus paddy in advance on this 6 bighas of land. Which has been sold in the market for 560-600 rupees. Soon potato seed planting work will start. I have got good yield and good price by cultivating three bighas of land in advance. We produce four crops a year on the land, including aus-potato-tobacco-maize.

Rahedul Islam and Manonar Hossain of Bazar Dumuria village said, "We are working for 17 people with the attendance of 300 rupees. Potato farmer Shamim Hossain Babur." Potatoes will be planted in his 25 bighas of land. Besides attending, the landlord also gave lunch. We are giving time to the potatoes in advance after harvesting the aman paddy in advance. If we didn't have potatoes in advance, we would have had to sit at this time. Potato farmer Shamim Hossain Babu said that the potatoes will be removed from the land in advance after 58-60 days of planting. The wholesalers take the land at the rate of 60-70 rupees per kg. Potatoes are also sold at Rs 80-90 in the local market and Rs 120 in advance in the Dhaka market. He said that one bigha costs about 25 thousand rupees.
