The price of gold in the world market is widely volatile

News Desk: After the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic around the world, there was a great instability in the price of gold in the world market. However, recently the gold market has been quite stable. The value of this metal has been revolving in the same place for almost a month.

A review of world market prices shows that since the second week of July, the price of gold per ounce has been between ৮ 1,800 and ৮ 1,615. Gold prices did not rise or fall during this period. Such a picture has not been seen in the price of gold for so long since the outbreak of coronavirus.

Last May and the beginning of June also saw widespread volatility in gold prices in the world market. Sudden big ups, then big bids happen again. As a result, the price of gold has to be re-determined in Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Jewelers' Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold by Tk 4,384 in two phases in May. Then in the beginning of June, the price of gold in the world market fell sharply. As a result, the price of gold is reduced in Bangladesh.

Last June 19, Bangladesh Jewelers Association announced to reduce the price of gold by Tk 1,517. However, at the rate at which the price of gold fell in the world market, Bajus could have reduced the price of gold up to four thousand rupees.

According to Bajus' announcement, the new gold price is effective from June 20. According to the newly fixed price, the price of 22 carat gold (11.64 grams) is 61,096 rupees. Besides, the price of 21 carat gold is 7,618 rupees, 18 carat gold is 70,006 rupees and the price of gold per traditional method is 49,548 rupees. At present gold is being sold in the country's market at this price.

Meanwhile, the price of gold per ounce in the world market has increased by 11.69 dollars or 0.6 percent over the last week. Through this, the price of gold per ounce has risen to 1,613.25 dollars.

Meanwhile, gold prices have risen slightly, but platinum, another precious metal, has fallen over the past week. Last week, the price of this metal has decreased by 1.18 percent. The price of platinum per ounce stands at হাজার 1,049. Silver, on the other hand, rose 1.25 percent to দশ 25.46 an ounce.
