Sheikh Hasina sat in a bilateral meeting with the Maldivian President

News Desk: Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina sat in a meeting with visiting Ibrahim Mohammad Salihar in Dhaka. Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Imrul Kayes said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina welcomed the Maldivian president when he arrived at the PM's office at 11 am on Thursday.

The Maldivian president arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday on a two-day visit. In the afternoon, he addressed a function organized at the National Parade Ground on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and the golden jubilee of independence.

Before the start of the bilateral meeting, a private meeting was held between the two heads of government. State Minister for External Affairs Shahriar Alam had earlier said that a number of MoUs could be signed in their presence for cooperation in various fields.

Bangabhaban President on Thursday evening. The President of Maldives will pay a courtesy call on Abdul Hamid. Later, he will attend a state banquet at Bangabhaban and enjoy cultural programs. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also scheduled to attend the banquet.

After the visit, the President of Maldives will return to the country on Thursday night. A 26-member delegation, including Maldives Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid and the Minister for Economic Development, is accompanying Ibrahim Mohammed Salih on the visit.
