The Prime Minister will inaugurate the book fair today

News Desk: This time the month of independence is starting 'Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2021'. Due to coronavirus, this month is going to be the fair of life instead of the month of language. Today, Thursday (March 18), the 38th edition of this fair of Bengali life is coming to an end. Which will continue till 14 April 2021. The Amar Ekushey Book Fair starts from the first day of February in memory of the martyrs every year in the month of Bahasa.

An exception has been made this year due to Corona. Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2021 organized by Bangla Academy on the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence is being dedicated to the memory of the heroic martyrs of the great liberation war. The main theme of this year's book fair is 'Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of Independence.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the virtual book fair from Ganobhaban at 3 pm today. State Minister for Culture KM Khalid will be present as a special guest. Due to the global epidemic of the corona, three levels of security have been taken at the book fair to prevent its transmission. There will be a 'No Mask-No Entry' logo at the entrance. The main attraction of the inaugural function of this year's Amar Ekushey Book Fair is the official publication of 'New China-1952', an English translation of 'Amar Dekha Nayachin' written by Bangabandhu and published by Bangla Academy.

\Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will unveil the book. The Bangla Academy Literary Award 2020 will be given at the inauguration ceremony. This time the book fair will be held on the premises of Bangla Academy and about 1.5 million square feet in the historic Suhrawardy Udyan. 154 out of 106 institutions in the academy premises and 60 units in 433 institutions in the Suhrawardy Udyan section; A total of 634 units have been allotted to 540 institutions.

There will be 33 pavilions at the fair. The book fair's Little Magazine premises have been shifted to the main fair premises of Suhrawardy Udyan. There, 135 LittleMags have been allotted stalls as well as 140 stalls with 5 open stalls. Suhrawardy Udyan will have a book unveiling ceremony. For the promotion of Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2021, there will be 1 information center at the west altar of Burdwan Bhaban and 3 information centers at Suhrawardy Udyan.

There will be a media center on the north side of the information center for the free exchange of information of the journalists. As part of the current government's concept of 'Digital Bangladesh', the A2I Authority of the Prime Minister's Office will arrange for their regular activities at the book fair as well as book unveiling, latest news from the information center, and publicity of the main stage of the fair. The fair will have a WiFi facility.
