International Desk: One person was killed and eight others were injured in a bomb attack on an Iranian-backed military base in central Iraq.

The attack was carried out on Friday night amid tensions between Iran and Israel. The country's army said that the United States had no hand in this attack. The news agency AFP reported this information. It said one person was killed and eight others were injured in the explosion at the Kalso base. The former pro-Iranian paramilitary group Hashed al-Shaabi used the base.

The pro-Shiite militia Hashed al-Shaabi was formed to fight against the militant group ISIS. Now these forces have become a part of the Iraqi security forces. Vehicles, weapons and goods were damaged in the attack. An official, who did not want to be named, said that the explosion took place in the warehouse. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack occurred amid tensions between Israel and Iran over the Gaza war. According to different media reports on Friday, Israel launched a missile attack on Iran that day. However, Iran denied this claim. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian has warned that if Israel takes any action against Iran's interests, Tehran will immediately launch the next attack with maximum force.

On April 1, Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria. Several top Iranian military officers were killed in the attack. In response to that attack, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired more than three hundred drones and missiles at Israel on Saturday night, April 13. Israel said to retaliate against this attack on Iran.
