Jamalpur Public Library should be modernized by removing dilapidation: Abul Kalam Azad MP

Jamalpur Correspondent: While inaugurating the five-day mobile book fair under the management of Biswa Sahitya Kendra in Jamalpur, Jamalpur Sadar Constituency Member of Parliament Abul Kalam Azad expressed surprise at the dilapidation and dilapidation of the traditional Jamalpur Public Library. He said that if the generation is to be attracted to reading, the dilapidated library should be modernized. Praising the Vishwa Sahitya Kendra, the MP said that this mobile fair should be taken to the union level not only in the city.

The mobile book fair was inaugurated at Jamalpur Public Library premises at 5 pm on Friday with the slogan 'Buy books, read books, be enlightened'. 

Among others, brave freedom fighter Ali Imam Dulal, poet Ali Zaheer, president of Jamalpur Online Journalist Network and editor of Banglarchithi.com Jahangir Salim, Professor Manowar Hossain Murad, General Secretary of Language and Liberation Struggle Research Center Ashrafuzzaman Swadhin, culture activist Tarikul Ferdous, Zilla School were present among others. Teacher Hisam Al Mahanab, World Literature Center Mobile Book Fair Incharge Devjyoti Mandal, organizer Debashish Baral and representatives of poets, writers and civil society.

In addition to the mobile book fair, Jamalpur Public Library also has a large number of books for sale. 20% discount on each book.

Jamalpur district administration is providing all-out support to make the mobile book fair a success with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, according to the organizing sources. The book fair will end on March 26.
