Russia is interested in increasing government scholarships for Bangladeshi students

Online Desk : Russian Federal Agency on Humanitarian Cooperation with Foreign Countries (Rosshotrudnichestvo) Moscow Head Office Deputy Head Pavel Shevtsov said that Russia is interested in increasing government scholarships for Bangladeshi students. He said, "Bangladesh is a country of genius, so if it is possible to get high-quality education, Bangladesh will be better in the future, and the Russian government is always active in providing opportunities for Bangladeshi students to get better education in world-renowned Russian universities.

Recently in the meeting held with Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel in the office of the Minister of Education in Bangladesh Secretariat 

Pavel Shevtsov said the above. The meeting also discussed increasing Russian scholarships in higher education, technical education, science and technology education and signing an agreement to ensure mutual acceptance of degrees from the two countries. 

In the meeting, Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury welcomed Pavel Shevtsov to his office in Russian. He said, Bangladesh welcomes any proposal from Russia regarding education. He reverently recalled the humanitarian assistance of the Soviet Union during the Bangladesh War of Independence and expressed gratitude to the Russian government for the overall development of Bangladesh by providing free higher education to Bengali students in various sectors and engaged in the reconstruction of their war-torn country.

Director of Russian House in Dhaka Mr. Pavel Dvoichenkov also spoke at the meeting. He said that since 1974, Russian House in Dhaka has been providing all institutional support for conducting Russian language education programs in Bangladesh besides receiving Russian government scholarships for higher education in Russia. The desire of Bengali students to pursue higher education in Russia has increased and the amount of scholarships from our side will be increased gradually. The meeting was attended by various officials of the Russian Embassy in Dhaka and the relevant officials of the Ministry of Education.
