Lalmonirhat Correspondent: Under the Safe Food Act, through a summary trial, the Pure Food Court has fined M/s Madina Bakery, located in Rasulganj Bazar of Patgram Upazila, one lakh taka for preparing and storing food in an unregistered, unhygienic, and dirty environment, using unauthorized coloring and newspaper for packaging, and failing to provide production and expiration dates on bread, cakes, and biscuits. The penalty was imposed under the Safe Food Act, 2013.
During the ongoing operation, various bakery products, including bread, cakes, and biscuits, totaling 60 kg, were seized and destroyed. The court was conducted by Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Alauddin, with overall coordination by Lalmonirhat District Safe Food Officer Md. Fazlul Haque. The court received support from Patgram Upazila’s Sanitary Inspector Mosha: Shayla Parvin, the police force of Patgram Police Station, two squads from the Fire Service and Civil Defence, and other officials.
The Safe Food Officer stated that such operations are ongoing to ensure safe food for consumers.
