Pabna Correspondent: In an operation conducted in the Dhanakunia Bazar area of Chatmohar Upazila, Pabna, Munnaf Hossain (35), a drug user, was apprehended with narcotics by the Pabna Department of Narcotics Control.
Munnaf Hossain is the son of Jaber Mondol from the Dhanakunia area. Following his arrest, he was produced before the court of Chatmohar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate (UNO) Musa Naser Chowdhury, who sentenced him to 15 days’ imprisonment without bail and imposed a fine of 100 BDT.
Inspector Abdur Rahim of the Pabna Department of Narcotics Control stated that as part of routine anti-drug operations, Munnaf Hossain was apprehended on Wednesday, 12 November, from the Dhanakunia Bazar area with five puria of marijuana. He was subsequently brought before the mobile court, where the sentence and fine were imposed.
UNO and Executive Magistrate Musa Naser Chowdhury added that the upazila administration, in coordination with the Department of Narcotics Control, is continuously conducting operations to make Chatmohar Upazila drug-free, and such operations will continue.
