Jamaat-e-Islami Gains Support Among Expatriates, Says Iqbal Hossain

Pabna, October 22: Prince Maulana Iqbal Hossain, the Deputy Ameer of Pabna District Jamaat-e-Islami and the party’s candidate for Pabna-5 (Sadar) constituency, stated on Wednesday that expatriates are eager to see Jamaat-e-Islami in power this time.

Speaking to journalists at Ataikula College ground in Pabna, he said, “Expatriates believe Bangladesh is safer under Jamaat-e-Islami. In its 54-year history, foreigners have witnessed various political parties at different times. Before the upcoming elections, many of them will return home during their holidays. Those unable to return due to visa issues will vote through a special government system from abroad.”

Maulana Iqbal Hossain returned to the country on Wednesday after more than a week of campaigning among expatriates in several countries, including Singapore and Malaysia.

Before arriving in Pabna, thousands of party supporters gathered at Ataikula College ground with motorcycles to welcome him. From there, a massive motorcycle procession escorted him through Pabna Terminal, Abdul Hamid Road, and Gachpara Mor, concluding at the gate of Darul Aman Trust.

The event was attended by key party figures, including Pabna District Jamaat Secretary Professor Abdul Gaffar, Pabna City Ameer Abdul Latif, District Workers’ Welfare Federation President Rezaul Karim, City Jamaat Secretary Zakir Hossain, Assistant Secretary Ikram Hossain, and Pabna Sadar Jamaat Secretary Ibrahim Khalil Ainul, among others.
