Chattogram Correspondent:
To press home their ongoing three-point demand, the Bangladesh Ideal Teachers’ Federation, Chattogram South District Branch, held a protest rally and assembly in solidarity with the central program.
On Monday (October 20) morning, the rally began from the premises of Rastar Matha Model Mosque in Satkania upazila and concluded with an assembly at Keranihat Square.
Present at the assembly were Principal Maulana Ismail Haqqani, President of the Chattogram South District Ideal Teachers’ Federation; Professor Nazrul Islam, President of the South District Ideal College Teachers’ Federation; Professor Abu Taher; school teachers Didarul Islam and Abdul Hamid; among others.
Speakers demanded implementation of their three-point charter, which includes a 20% house rent allowance and a Tk 1,500 medical allowance for MPO-listed teachers and staff, as well as a 75% festival allowance for employees.
They further warned, “If a gazette notification on these logical demands is not issued soon, we will go on an indefinite work stoppage and continue a sit-in program.”
