Information Technology Desk:  The instant messaging app Imo has closed 628 thousand accounts in Bangladesh for not complying with the community guidelines from January to September this year. This initiative is part of IMO's continued commitment to transparency, safety and inclusion.

During Cyber Security Awareness Month in October, IMO released this information to build trust and position itself as a secure platform among the global community. The popular instant messaging app takes the help of AI (artificial intelligence) to identify public content 24/7.

In addition, the app encourages users to report harmful behaviors as part of building tolerance and safety in the community. In the first quarter of this year, Imo identified 90,000 user-reported cases of malicious activity that could affect the community by posting harmful content. The eMore Community Guidelines are designed to foster an inclusive, safe, and reliable environment for all users, without exception.

These guidelines apply equally to all users and regardless of content to ensure transparency and consistency in the implementation process. The platform is always bringing more relevant features and continuously upgrading the application to ensure a safe and friendly community. October is the Cyber Security Awareness Month to make people aware of being more careful and safe while using the internet.

Emo is always committed to providing security and privacy protection for users. The platform has already brought several security and privacy protection features like end-to-end encryption, two-step verification, passkeys, SIM card binding, block screenshots and privacy chat and privacy mode to keep users safe. These features will not only increase awareness about privacy, but also help in preventing cybercrime and cyberbullying.
